SF's Real Estate LeaderThe 2012 real estate sales data is in and once again Zephyr tops the market! That's right, Zephyr Real Estate is number one in number of properties sold and also in highest total dollar volume sold, proving once again that you are working with the right brokerage, wink wink. Zephyr agents sold almost 1,400 properties last year; the next closest company sold nearly 400 less. Zephyr agents also trounced other brokerages by selling a total of $1.235 billion that's billion, with a "B" while the next runner-up brokerage sold $166 million less in San Francisco in 2012.Yes, these are just numbers, with a little bit of bragging rights, but one more thing to cement the fact that you made the right choice by working with a Zephyr agent. Of course the real reason you made this choice is not because of our awesome market presence, but because of our stellar, knowledgeable and hardworking agents. Thank you again for making us number one!
Long-Awaited SFJAZZ Center Debuts
The new talk of the town, the SFJAZZ Center opened with a bang, er, tuba blast on January 21. The gorgeous, glass walled, state-of-the-art center and auditorium is located on the corner of Franklin and Fell streets in San Francisco's cultural and performance district. With the ballet, the opera and the symphony halls all in close proximity, many feel that the Jazz Center will round out the full San Francisco performance landscape. The 35,000 square foot, 700 seat, LEED-certified building and auditorium were designed by architect Mark Cavagnero. A brick and mortar location for SFJAZZ has been thirty years in the making and will now host more 100 performances a year. The building also houses rehearsal rooms, digital learning labs for local artists and a retail shop and cafe for us laypeople. Enjoy, SF!
Spotlight on Lofts
The San Francisco loft is a curious animal; its popularity seems to wax and wane with the fickleness of the SF cool kids. Unlike the New York loft that remains at the top of utter chic-dom due to their cool warehouse conversion vibe, SF lofts were mostly built in the dot-com hay days. Lofts were not doing great in the San Francisco marketplace for a while, but due to the heavy tech activity in the area and low inventory, lofts are once again selling at a premium. It's a super cool way to live, especially if you like lots of square footage, and wide open spaces. Lofts usually come with parking and are pet friendly buildings. Here's a few currently on the market to help get you in a loft state of mind:1415 Indiana #303 $669,000
It doesn't get much cooler than this! Over 1,500 square feet of living space in an edgy neighborhood, designed by the dot-com era San Francisco architecture darling David Baker.60 Rausch #205 $769,000
Hip SOMA conversion loft with two bedrooms and one-and-a-half baths, spread out over 1,400 square feet.
1 Bluxome #403 $1,295,000
Dramatic Mission Bay loft with gorgeous industrial arched windows and modern finishes.
