Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...as long as it's limited to one area of the city. The Mayor's Office of San Francisco has the right idea with the 3rd Annual Free Holiday Snow Park at City Hall; surround San Francisco City Hall with tons of snow and make it look postcard-perfect, pack the snow into the shape of a huge snow hill with runs for the kids to sled down and create a festive holiday atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. Don't forget all the other cool stuff like walking in a winter wonderland, making snow-people with button noses and 2 eyes made out of coal, and eating candy canes! There will be other family-friendly activities and entertainment to enjoy, too.
And what makes this even better ? Traffic won't get (more) snarled, plows won't need to be called in from other cities and San Franciscans won't need to worry about dirty, muddy black snow.
(side note: After the kids are exhausted from running around in the snow and are ready for bed, it might be time for the adults to join in on the Santacon fun.)
