This post is part of the SFhotlist Client Success Story Series. We know, buying a home in San Francisco can be a challenge. For that reason, we want to share client success stories and show that purchasing a home, even in the competitive San Francisco real estate market, is a cause for celebration. Let us know what you think!
Tyler and Sara are two professionals with a growing family who wanted a neighborhood where they could enjoy family activities, stroller in tow, and easy access to restaurants and parks, but also get downtown easily without a car. Tyler is a successful software engineer while Sara, a San Francisco native, is taking time off from a thriving career to be with the couple's children.
While they loved their beautiful San Francisco single family home, it was time for a move. When we first met them, they had almost lost hope of finding their dream home in their dream location. Fortunately, we at SFhotlist are in the business of helping people achieve their dreams, and arrived just in time!
Tyler and Sara had been looking for about a year in the desirable Inner Sunset 9th and Irving area, but were close to giving up because of low inventory, high prices, and competitive bidding. This neighborhood is in high demand because of its close proximity to Golden Gate Park, public transportation to downtown, and the trendy 9th and Irving restaurant and shopping district.
They found us through Yelp and chose us to be their real estate agents because of our excellent reviews, great reputation, and the relationships we have with local Realtors. Tyler said, “We felt confident, in this tough market, that Danielle and Lucas could navigate all the challenges that face buyers right now."
Despite the lack of inventory in the neighborhood, we were determined to find the perfect home for Tyler and Sara. There was an added challenge of Tyler and Sara needing to hold onto their current home until they found a new one, but as experienced San Francisco Realtors, we'd overcome similar challenges before. Besides, we love a challenge; it keeps us on our toes!
The first task was finding the perfect home. This is where our years of experience with San Francisco real estate truly benefits our clients. Fairly quickly, we found a home in the Sunset neighborhood with a perfect back yard for children and great expansion potential. This beautiful property will grow with their family.
Since homes rarely become available in this neighborhood, Tyler and Sara needed to jump on this opportunity fast. Due to our team's connections in the San Francisco real estate market, we were able to put Tyler and Sara in contact with one of our favorite lenders to explore new options for financing the home.
Our first success was getting Sara and Tyler a bridge loan, which allowed them to purchase their new home before they sold their existing home. Not a lot of lenders offer bridge loans, but our lender acted quickly to get them the loan that made this transaction possible.
Tyler was afraid they wouldn’t be able to afford this particular property without selling their property, while Sara knew that a great opportunity like this one wouldn’t come up again anytime soon, so she wanted to move forward. “We had finally found the perfect home, but I knew Tyler was really worried about finances. It was really stressful!” Securing the bridge loan made everything possible and eliminated any complications.
The second success was working with the listing agent to get a winning offer despite fifteen other offers. Because we have worked with so many top local agents in the past, they know our reputation, and they know we are credible, so they feel confident that transactions will go smoothly. That gives us a competitive edge when it comes to negotiating winning offers for our buyers.
We discussed available options with them, and helped them choose a home and a loan option with which they felt confident and comfortable. Because we made the transaction smooth, Tyler and Sara's stress was reduced and they told us it helped them support each other through the often-challenging San Francisco real estate process.
The last time we spoke, Sara told me “I love our new home, and I’m thrilled that Danielle and Lucas made this possible even in a totally crazy, stressful market. Not to mention our own challenging financial situation. They really know how to make things happen for their clients.”
If this story sounds like you or someone you know, reach out to us and we’d be happy to work our signature San Francisco real estate magic.
